Animal Rights Poetry and Prose By J.H. Dickinson

Soil beneath toes

I do not own you
Earth
Gravel
Grit
Soil beneath toes

I do not control you
Animal
Flank
Sweat
Blood and bone

I do not hold documents
Destroy
Own
Planet
Power misunderstood

I do not craft sky
Pasture
Heartbeats
Wind
Creaking of wood

I do not see privilege
Of tenant
Of transitory thing

I do not know my place
Fleeting
Blink of an eye
- Homo sapien

hands on globe
