"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

“Capitol Crimes” – 5 October 2006
By Mary T. Hoffman

Last night Public TV presented the first of three new “Bill Moyers on America” investigative documentaries that are being aired this month. Two hours in length, “Capitol Crimes” was excellent – a real eye-opener. Perhaps you can find out if it is being presented in your area. Here in the Northeast this program will be aired again on Sunday, 8 October, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

While watching “Capitol Crimes,” I began to realize how much information is withheld from the public. Just when I think “I’ve seen it all,” more comes to light and reinforces my opinion that humans are truly a fallen race. What I found particularly deplorable was these arrogant, mocking, criminal politicians’ references to God and Christianity, as they try to hide behind religion! The damage that Rex Reed, Jack Abramoff, Tom Delay and others have done goes beyond mere material greed. And I find it very hard to believe that our President doesn’t know what’s going on.

Here is a description of “Capitol Crimes” from the program listings: “The fall of Jack Abramoff has exposed a huge web of corruption that remains vastly unreported by the broadcast media, even as prosecutors continue to chase down leads and quiz insiders and witnesses.”
