"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Wildlife Watch Inc. – 12 June 2006
By Mary T. Hoffman

As we have done for the past several years, yesterday Frank and I attended the Wildlife Watch annual meeting in New Paltz, New York. Once again we enjoyed the company of our hosts Anne and Peter Muller and other friends who are interested in helping people, the environment, and wildlife.

We always look forward to these meetings where we can network with like-minded folks in a beautiful, outdoor setting, while enjoying a large variety of delicious vegan food!

Among the issues discussed, Anne spoke about their Wildlife Watch 800 telephone number and how this enables them to help others throughout the country.

Peter spoke about LOHV – League of Humane Voters. I believe this is an excellent approach for bringing about much-needed change in the political scene. As new chapters of LOHV are launched, politicians will wake up to the fact that there are many intelligent, compassionate people who are tired of the old “business as usual” politics that ignore the horrible abuse of animals.

After all the rainy days we’ve had (right through Saturday), it turned out to be a delightful June Sunday – perfect for enjoying our yearly get-together!
