How do you imagine it feels to be living in the same house as a guy who sneezes every minute of every hour of every day for a month?

If you were one of the three unlucky sleepless daughters of this man, visions of gagging him with a spoon (valley girl speak) to stop the sniffles and sneezes entertained you for the entire month of May during each one of your formative years.

That is exactly as it once was in my house before I became the Notmilkman. I no longer have the wheezes and the sneezes and the sinus that's really a trip!

"Dairy products may play a major role in the development of allergies, asthma, sleep difficulties, and migraine headaches."
- Israel Journal of Medical Sciences

The March, 2015 issue of the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research included a study that should have been coupled with research published in the June, 2014 issue of Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Review both and you will have an idea
Of why you most probably have sneezes and sniffles
After April showers and before May flowers.

The June, 2014 study (Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical Immunology) questions whether pollen exposure measurements are feasible. Scientists at the University of Vienna in Austria recognized that there are challenges in simply relying upon atmospheric pollen counts, and recognize that individuals have differences.

The researchers explored genetic and environmental factors, while ignoring the role diet plays in allergic reactions. Doctors concluded:

"Personal pollen information is now possible based on personal symptom data and regional pollen data. In future, personal pollen data could complete this achievement."

In the March, 2014 study (Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research), Indian researchers came closer to deciphering the riddle of seasonal allergy suffering.

The title of their study offered a clue:

"Cow's Milk Protein Allergy Mimicking Acrodermatitis  Enteropathica" - The scientists concluded:

"...On stopping the cow's milk all the symptoms and signs disappeared completely and there was no recurrence on long term follow up."

Last week (04/24/2016), the pollen count in the New York metropolitan area was a low three. Today it should reach the maximum twelve. Sneeze & sniffle!

Pavlov's dogs once salivated after hearing the chime of a dinner bell. I used to sneeze when I heard the sound of a lawn mower. Grass pollens triggered my nasal attacks. Tree pollens instantly filled my nostrils with super glue.

That's the price I used to pay for the budding sexuality of spring-fever plants behaving like bees and birds. I looked up the exact meaning of "pollen count" and learned that it is the number of pollen spores per cubic yard of the air we breathe. Pollen experts blame early pollens on sprouting maple, juniper, and poplar trees.

There was a time when Actifed was my best friend from May 1st until June 1st. Now, pollen season is easy for me to tolerate. Looking back, I recognize that giving up all dairy made the difference between ventilation-hell and normal breathing.

Two decades ago, I read a blockbuster article in the Townsend Medical Letter. I remember the moment well. That was the last time I ate cow-based ice cream:

"In reality, cow's milk, especially processed cow's milk, has been linked to a variety of health problems, including: mucous production and allergies."
- Townsend Medical Letter, May, 1995

Eighty percent of milk protein is casein. Ten to twelve hours after eating casein, one's body produces histamines and then mucus. A temporary antidote for allergic reactions to pollens and dairy products are anti-histamines. Most of us have searched pharmacy shelves for congestion relief. Dairy pushes the reaction to pollens over the line. If you are one of millions of Americans who waste a total of eleventy-seven zillion dollars on visits to allergists which pay for their BMWs and Mercedes vehicles, abstain from dairy so that they will be forced to buy either Cadillac or Ford.

Relief is near. It's called Notmilk!

I paid thousands of dollars to various allergists, receiving treatment which did not work. Why did not any one of them alert me to the following:

"At least 50% of all children in the United states are llergic to cow's milk, many undiagnosed. Dairy products are the leading cause of food allergy...Many cases of asthma and sinus infections are reported to be relieved and even eliminated by cutting out dairy."
- Natural Health, July, 1994, Nathaniel Mead, MD

There's a cure. Enjoy a dairy-free, allergy-free spring!
