Dear Daisy:

We cannot truly know what is going on in your mind, so let’s look at the love vs. fear relationship in another situation. If a person’s life is being threatened as were the lives of those in Aurora, it is quite understandable that they would not want to stand up and tell the other person not to shoot anyone else. On the other hand this would be a very rare situation when talking to someone about animal rights or being vegan. But in your mind you may have similar feelings of fear.

You seem to have no fear of handing out brochures to people, so let’s start there. Inside the brochure there must be at least one thing that is near and dear to your heart. So, the next time you hand one out, open the brochure to that spot, and as you hand the brochure to them say something like: “I’d like to tell you about something, if you have a few seconds. If they don’t have the time just give them the brochure, but if they do have the time, politely and softly tell them in about 15 seconds why that section touched your heart and soul and why you could no longer…(eat animals, or whatever else is on your heart). Once you break the ice, it becomes easier and easier.

People rarely change unless their emotions are shocked, so instead of shouting out to everyone, start telling one friend or acquaintance, or a small group how and why you made the change to being a vegan animal rights person, and why you can no longer be a part of the pain and suffering. And remember, if they are really your friends, they will want to know why you feel the way you do.

Turn your anger energy into action energy, and it will go a lot further as a peacemaking child of God.

Your anger is also a part of your mourning for the animals, but as you more and more begin to speak about how all the suffering bothers you, you will see people respond in both positive and negative ways, but don’t let the negativity stop you, let it be a challenge to tell more people. Making it a part of their conversation can also be a help.

It is working.

We hope this helps.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
