Hunting and fishing are both blood sports that cause pain, suffering, and death. In order for a person to do this to another living being that wants to live just as much as we do, requires that person to harden their heart from feeling any empathy for the victim. In addition, to have pleasure in doing so, is really sadistic, when we look at the definition.
My (Frank) father took me hunting and fishing, too, but somewhere along the way, I began to feel the pain and suffering of the animals, and could no longer be a part of it.
Violence can be controlled to some extent, but it is always in the background, and can be triggered to explode. We have seen this happen, and have worked with others who have experienced the same problem, and this is much more prevalent with people who have dulled their empathy through hunting and fishing.
We hope this helps.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
