Suzanne, who leafleted at a recent Winter Jam in Grand Rapids, MI, writes:

A friend and Ieasily handed out the entire box [600 booklets] you sent within an hour.We picked up any discarded leaflets and re-handed out all except the few that were wet. Kris and her son also handed out all the leaflets she was sent.

I was surprised how big the event was.The line snaked at least twice around the arena.Security did not mind as we stayed outside line-forming fences and away from crosswalks (at police department's request). I enjoyed the experience and hope to help again!

2. Reply to "why don't churches oppose animal abuse?" (12/24/15)

I, too, often hear the rationale of animals not having a soul somehow justifying the abuse of animalsand consumption of their flesh. I have given this response some thought and to be honest, I really don't know whether animals have a soul. I suspect they do and expect to see them in heaven.

But the important question I think we need to ask ourselves is not "do animals have a soul," but, rather, "do I have a soul?" And if I conclude that if I have a soul, why would I even consider killing and/or eating one of God's beautiful creatures? We may want to think of ourselves as better than the rest of God's creatures, and if so why not demonstrate it by our compassion? Don't you sometimes wonder if the animals were made in God's image and not us?
