1. CVA Activism

Georgia writes: I am happy I ended up leafleting at the Pillar concert because we met Dorothy.  We must have given out 200 or more booklets.   The concert was mostly a lot of kids and it wasn't real crowded but it was a nice night.  There were those who just held there hand out while listening to the LOUD music and then there were those who really wanted anything that had to do with Christianity.   There were also some who were Vegetarians already and noticed some new information in the booklet.  I kept the left over booklets to distribute them around my area.

Extending CVA’s ministry to Peru, John writes:

Regarding his activities in Peru, John writes: I wanted to mention that things went pretty well in Peru regarding my trip and animal welfare.  At first things looked bad, because the culture is ridiculously stuck on meat.  Furthermore sometimes I was confronted with animal cuisine in ways much more disturbing than I might have to face here in the big city.

However eventually I won some respect for vegetarianism with the host pastor.  On my last night I even heard him preaching to the evangelists there about how though I was a vegetarian I was willing to go where there was no vegetarian food to serve God.  He has taken all the Spanish books you sent me.  He read his with special interest.

Needless to say, he is a special pastor to be so open to new ideas in such a culture.

3. Should We Support Animal Welfare Reforms?

Ann writes: I feel that ANY efforts to eliminate any aspects of an animal's suffering are steps in the right direction. Ask the pig who has been confined all its life how it feels about being able to move. This doesn't mean we have to accept eating pigs as ok, because it isn't. But we have to take one step at a time and pray for all people to eventually see the light and understand that eating animals is wrong. I find that living as an example to others is the best way to get that message across.

4. Vegetarian House Seeking Occupant in Berkeley, CA
