Interview with Gene Baur
Gene Baur, President and co-founder of Farm Sanctuary, explains in this interview why it is so important to expose agri-business and what the best strategies are to achieve it. Baur, vegan since 1985 is a tireless champion for farmed animals, who have been exploited relentlessly and unnecessarily. Christians, by supporting it, become supporters of unimaginable cruelty to God’s animals, sickness to humans and destruction of the environment. How can we claim to be good stewards of God’s Creation if we take our choice of diet as it if weren’t a serious spiritual matter? Steve Kaufman, CVA chair, puts it well: “…I think that eating animals and animal products is a sign that one is not saved. I don’t think that diet determines salvation; instead, I think diet reflects one’s relationship with God.”
