Being Vegan Today
Nil Zacharias, co-founder of One Green Planet, writes a very
compelling article about the numerous reasons to adopt a plant-based
diet. Zacharias explains how easily attainable and fulfilling a vegan
diet is, especially in this day and age. In fact, it is surprising that
even more people have not gone vegan upon learning of the suffering of
billions of farmed animals, the negative effects of animal products on
human health and the devastation on the environment that animal
agriculture causes.

The Inconvenience of Being Vegan
Christians should be “the light and the salt” of the world, which to
most people it would mean leading by example. However, sadly, on the
issues of stewardship of God’s Creation and the treatment to God’s
animals, Christians are lagging behind and many times excusing their
poor choice of diet laden with animal products on the basis of unfounded
Biblical grounds. I think it is clear that adopting a plant-based diet
not only accords with Bible principles but also shows the rest of the
world that we do care deeply for God’s Creation: animals, our health and
the environment.
