What a Vegan is Really Thinking

A vegan person (unknown author) shares what he/she feels when eating with his/her non-vegetarian friends. This person shares that his/her thoughts usually fall on the animal flesh his/her friends are eating and wonders why his/her friends, who are intelligent, thinking people actually eat the flesh of dead animals. The author acknowledges that at that point - food - it seems that where their ethics vanish. "They recycle, eschew the use of cars, buy fair-trade coffee and bananas, use environmentally friendly detergent," the author shares, "But when it comes to the moral and environmental issue of meat consumption, their desire for food they enjoy the taste of, the sensual pleasure it gives them, overrides any ethical considerations."
