1. Moms Should Want to Raise their Kids Vegan
Susan Levin, M.S., R.D., director of nutrition education at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), explains that even though abundant scientific evidence indicates that a plant-based diet is the healthiest diet for children, still many physicians and "experts" discourage parents from not feeding meat, dairy and eggs to their kids. As Levin points out, plant-based diets help prevent most chronic diseases that plague our society.

Of course a diet that shows compassion to God's animals and helps us celebrate life joyfully and healthfully should be the one we all adopt. After all, our loving Creator has blessed us with such a variety of tasty plant-based foods that really most of us have no need of animal products to survive.

2. This Week’s Famous Quote
The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.
― David Orr, Ecological Literacy

3. Meat-Eating is Seen as Masculine
New studies about the reasons of why fewer males are vegetarian or vegan compared to women indicate that meat-eating males tend to be seen as more masculine. Researchers examined 23 languages that use gendered pronouns and discovered that meat-related metaphors were also more closely associated to the male gender.

Please visit Meat-eating males considered more masculine than vegans and vegetarians, per study Meat-eating males considered more masculine than vegans and vegetarians, per study:
This study highlights the importance of the availability of meat analogs in the market in order to help dismiss the myth that equates meat with masculinity. From a personal point of view I can say that compassion is probably the most attractive trait in men!

4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) Revelations 21:4-5
'...he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.' And he who sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new.' Also he said, 'Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.'
We should strive and actively participate in the reconciliation of God's Creation, until we reach a time where there will be no more suffering and pain. Choosing a plant-based diet is a testament of how much suffering we can alleviate, in humans and God’s animals.

5. Beyond Meat
"Beyond Meat" is a new company based in Maryland and whose founder, Ethan Brown, claims to have developed an alternative to chicken meat that tastes similar to the real thing. Additionally, this meat alternative is supposed to be cheaper than those already on the market. Next month, consumers will place their verdict: The Whole Foods Market chain plans to start selling prepared food using “Beyond Meat” chicken in Northern California in June.

Although our Creator has blessed us with an amazing abundance and variety of delicious, healthy plant-based foods, I think it’s important that meat analogs are available to help people make the transition more easily to a plant-based diet. Moreover, meat analogs also help people reduce their meat-intake even if they don’t fully adopt a plant-based diet.
