1. Link between Red Meat and Kidney Cancer
According to a
study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition the risk
of kidney cancer is increased by eating red meat. The study involved
approximately one-half million people and the results indicated that
those who ate the most meat had a higher risk of kidney cancer. To

To Kidney Cancer:

Although there’s enough scientific
evidence already indicating that humans are better off on a
plant-based-diet, a new study sheds even more light on the dangers of
consuming animal products. Being good stewards of our bodies implies
making mindful decisions at the time of eating.
2. Harvard “Enlightens” USDA on the
Issue of Dairy
The Harvard School of Public Health declares
dairy is not part of a healthy diet, sending a strong message to the
USDA and their "Healthy Eating Plate" heavily influenced by food
industry lobbyists. Harvard emphasizes that plant-based alternatives
to cow’s milk, such as collards and soy milk, are much healthier
choices. To read the full article please visit

The
issue of dairy is one of common sense. Cow's milk is for calves, who
grow 500 lbs in their first 6 months of life. Moreover, we are the
only species that drinks milk past infancy and from another species.
Knowledge, information and a compassionate heart leads us to make
better choices, such as transitioning to a plant-based diet for our
health, God's animals and the environment.
3. This Week’s
Bible Verse
(RSV) 1 Timothy 6:10
"For the love of
money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some
have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many
pangs."
A good example of how money is used to create
devastation, pain, suffering and death is the factory farming
business, which does not care about God's Creation (environment,
animals, people) but only profits. Are we wandering away from Jesus'
teachings of compassion, mercy and love when we support this industry?
I think so.
4. Paula Deen is in Many of Us
Dr. Neal
Barnard, founder and president of the Physicians Committee for
Responsible Medicine (PCRM), clearly states that the recent news about
Paula Deen’s type 2 diabetes should be a wake-up call for Americans
and anyone who eats the typical Western diet. Barnard believes we
should not point fingers to Deen, but instead look around and realize
that our government, the animal agriculture industry and
pharmaceutical companies all share responsibility for promoting a diet
that is conducive to the many chronic diseases that plague our world.
