1. Freedom!
God’s animals, much like
humans, fight for their lives fiercely. This is the true story of a 3
year-old steer who last week escaped from a slaughterhouse in North
Dakota and had the good fortune of being rescued. He is now a
permanent resident of SASHA sanctuary where he enjoys a life of
freedom, love and respect.

2. Famous Quote
“There’s
really no such things as the ‘voiceless’. There are only the
deliberately silenced, or the preferably unheard.”
~ Arundhati Roy,
Indian author and political activist
3. The Pork Industry’s
Tactics
Matthew Prescott, director of food policy for The Humane
Society of the United States, writes about the blatant actions by the
pork industry that result in consumers being deceived and remaining in
the dark as far as this business goes. He mentions ag-gag laws, the
blocking of food labeling, the ignoring of mandates, etc.

Industry does its best to keep consumers in the dark.
The pork
industry is one of the cruelest, most deceiving industries in the
world. What they do to pigs is really unspeakable and unimaginable.
Sadly, many people still support this industry allowing them to
continue lying to people, destroying the environment and torturing
God’s animals. Nothing is going to change unless consumers choose
compassion over taste and convenience.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Luke 6:36
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
We are made in the image of God, who is a God of Love and Mercy.
Therefore, since we share this essence of love and mercy we are called
to reflect these traits onto all Creation. Love and cruelty cannot
coexist together. Either we love and show mercy, or we don't. Each
Christian should ask him/herself this question at the time of making
food choices.
5. Save God’s Animals, Save Humanity
Aysha
Akhtar, neurologist, public health specialist and author, explains why
protecting animals is beneficial to humans. She clearly highlights
that violence to animals shares the same roots as violence to humans,
and that this is the reason why the animal advocacy movement has
become so important in our society. She states that “by saving animals
we save ourselves’.

Official: Animal Protection IS Human Protection.
It’s fantastic
that more people are waking up to the reality that exploiting God’s
animals has tremendous negative consequences to humans and, that at
the same time, protecting God’s animals has tremendous positive impact
in humanity. It’s simply an inescapable truth.
6. This Week’s
Video: Butterball Undercover Investigation
Thanks to a new
investigation by Mercy For Animals, the company “Butterball”, which
responsible for 20 percent of the 252 million turkeys raised for food
in the United States, has once again been brought to light due to
egregious cruelty to animals such as: baby birds being callously
tossed into a macerating machine to be ground up alive; workers
roughly throwing and dropping newborn animals with no regard for their
welfare; newly hatched birds regularly getting stuck in and mangled by
factory machinery; and turkeys having their sensitive toes and beaks
cut or burned off without any painkillers.
