1. Factory Farming Bad for the Whole Planet
Factory farming is
destructive at so many levels that it surprising that so many people
still support it. It’s barbarically cruel to animals, it degrades the
environment, it contributes to diseases and therefore to our wallets,
it promotes world hunger and finally it infringes on our rights
through ag-gag laws.

Things Factory Farm Harms besides Animals.
Let’s take a stand
for God’s Creation by adopting and advocating plant-based diets. The
benefits of doing this are truly innumerable, deep and lasting.
Healing and reconciliation on Earth cannot take place unless we
practice what we claim to believe: Jesus’ teachings of compassion,
mercy and love.
2. Famous Quote
Once people spend time
with farm animals in a loving way ... a pig or cow or a little chicken
or a turkey, they might find they relate with them the same way they
relate with dogs and cats. People don't really think of them that way
because they're on the plate. Why should they be food when other
animals are pets? I would never eat my doggies.

3. Meatless Meatballs
IKEA,
one of the world's largest furniture retailers also famous for its
Swedish meatballs, announced it will be launching a vegetarian version
of its signature dish in 2015 out of concern for the environment. "We
are aware of the meat issue with greenhouse gases," Joanna Yarrow,
head of sustainability for Ikea in the UK, said. "We are looking at
all our food products from a sustainability perspective but
specifically meatballs. They are very popular and they are also our
most carbon-intensive food item on our menu."

The world is changing. Consumers care
more about God’s animals, health and the environment; and therefore,
companies act in accordance to consumers’ choices and demand. Our
purchases should align with our values and in this case IKEA has
noticed that consumers want a compassionate and sustainable food
product. This is the power that consumers have.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for
you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a
future and a hope.
If God is love and we are made in His/Her
image, we should do our best to act in loving ways even though we live
in an imperfect world.
5. Climate Change Affects Everyone
Climate change is real and everyone will be touched by it. This is
what Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the "Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change" (IPCC) says. IPCC’s latest report authored by more
than 300 scientists, who examined 12,000 publications, is a clear
warning about the climate impacts that planet is facing. They state
that climate change will reduce water availability, cause species to
migrate, harm crop yields, and bring more damaging extreme weather.

in this planet" will be untouched by climate change - IPCC head.
Climate change is largely driven by human practices, and animal
agriculture is one of them. In fact, animal agriculture produces much
more greenhouse gases than even the whole transportation industry! It
is evident that the choice of diet is crucial at the time of making
mindful choices that shape the future of our planet.
