1. A Cardiologist's Advice
Dr. Joel Kahn, a cardiologist, explains to the reader why a
well-balanced plant-based diet is tremendously beneficial for our
health. He cites studies that indicate that vegetarians tend to live
longer, have lower rates of diabetes, lower blood pressures, are less
likely to have cancer and fewer of them die of heart disease.

Powerful Reasons to Eat A Plant-Based Diet: A Cardiologist Explains.
The scientific evidence indicating that plant-based diets are
beneficial for our health is abundant. In fact, there is no
disadvantage whatsoever to adopting a well-balanced vegan diet. It’s
no surprise why the Bible states that a plant-based diet is God’s
ideal diet for us.
2. Famous Quote
Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must
see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is
clouded.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
3. “Forks Over Knives” Changes
Lives
Read about a couple who after watching the documentary “Forks Over
Knives” decides to adopt a plant-based diet. The results are so much
better than expected that they decide to tell their story. Dale
cleared the blockage of his arteries, reduced his cholesterol levels
and dropped weight. Robin lost weight, reduced her cholesterol levels
and is no longer pre-diabetic. Both feel better than ever!

We are what we eat! Sometimes the solution to our health problems
is not in conventional medicine but it a change of lifestyle and
heart. When we choose compassion and adopt a well-balanced plant-based
diet our bodies receive optimum nutrition. A plant-based diet helps us
be good stewards of our bodies.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count
others better than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his
own interests, but also to the interests of others.
We are called to have a humble heart and to not look at others as
lesser individuals. I think we should apply this teachings onto all of
God's creatures and not just humans. As stewards of God's Creation,
our behavior toward all creatures should be one of compassion, mercy
and love.
5. Study Shows Women Benefit from Eating More
Plant-Based Foods
The results of a study comprising 2508 participants in the
government-sponsored Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults
(CARDIA) study, shows that “women who reported eating eight to nine
servings a day of fruits and vegetables in their 20s were 40 per cent
less likely to have calcified plaque in their arteries in their 40s,
compared with those who ate the just three to four servings a day.”
This is yet one more study that shows that eating more plant-based
foods is beneficial for our health. If we let compassion help guide
our food choices we’ll find that a plant-based diet causes the least
suffering in God’s Creation.
6. This Week’s Video: Phytates
for the Prevention of Cancer
In this short video Dr. Greger explains why phytic acid (phytate),
concentrated in food such as beans, whole grains, and nuts, seem to
lower cancer rates among plant-based populations.
