1. Book Recommendation
“Never Too Late To Go Vegan: The Over 50 Guide to Adopting and
Thriving On a Plant Based Diet” by Carol J. Adams, Patti Breitman, and
Virginia Messina, RD, MPh is an excellent book that helps the reader

on their health even after 50. It also comes with delicious,

reader navigate through restaurant menus. This book empowers people to
make dietary changes at an age most people don’t like to make changes.

2. Famous Quote
“The act of regularly eating foods derived from confined and
brutalized animals forces us to become somewhat emotionally
desensitized, and this numbing and inner armoring make it possible for
us as a culture to devastate the earth, slaughter people in wars, and
support oppressive social structures without feeling remorse.
By going vegan, we’re taking responsibility for the effects of our
actions on vulnerable beings and we’re resensitizing ourselves. We’re
becoming more alive, and more able to feel both grief and joy.
Kahlil Gibran points out in The Prophet that unless we are able to
feel our grief and weep our tears, we will not be able to laugh our
laughter, either. Turning our pain and outrage into action on behalf
of vulnerable beings will bring healing to us and to our world.”
~ Dr. Will Tuttle, “The World Peace Diet”
3. Our Meat Obsession
This is an honest article about our society’s obsession with meat.
The author recognizes her love for it but also realizes that many of
the health problems common in our society are due to the high intake
of animal products. She suggests recognizing the consequences of
meat-eating, stop fetishizing it and instead fetishize broccoli.

need to quit our obsession with meat.
Indeed, our society is obsessed with meat. We equate it to the only
source of protein, to a flourishing economy, to high social status, to
manhood and power, etc. The current health crisis shows that we are
obviously eating the wrong foods and at the same time scientific
studies show that we need to eat more plant-based foods.
Let’s be
the salt and the light of the world by showing everyone around us that
plant-based diets are healthful, merciful and sustainable.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) James 3:17-18
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or
insincerity. And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by
those who make peace.”
When we follow and practice the wisdom of God we find ourselves
acting in compassion, mercy and love; there is no longer room for
selfishness, arrogance and tyranny. Instead, we find we act as
peacemakers in God's Creation bringing reconciliation to it.
5. “Vegan” is Here to Stay
Many are the signs that more people every day are waking up and
realizing that the animal agriculture industry is probably not the
right one to provide them with food, and that instead plant-based
sources are the way to go.
This excellent article shows that
veganism is not a trend on the rise but instead a lifestyle that is
here to stay. “There is a steady, clear increase in search volume and
nationwide spread for vegan-related terms.”
