1. If Turkeys Could Speak
Although we don’t
know what exactly it feels to be a turkey, the study, observation and
interaction with them has shed much light into the inner lives of
turkeys. This is a beautiful piece written from the perspective of a
turkey.

2. This Week’s Famous
Quote
“The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful
than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
3. The Vegan Spirit of Thanksgiving
Dr. Will Tuttle
inspires us to question the rooted system of violence in our culture
and challenges us to end it by replacing it with a system of peace and
non-violence. He rightly reminds us that the Thanksgiving celebration
is a time of thankfulness for the abundant variety of plant-based
foods we are blessed with; a time rooted in giving thanks for the
autumn harvest. Eating turkey and other animals is the epitome of
indoctrination where we are told to behave like predators and to
believe we need to have animal flesh and secretions in order to
celebrate, or even on a regular basis. Let’s all encourage and inspire
everyone around us by showing them that Thanksgiving is a perfect time
to express our benevolent nature, and to bless others with kindness
and compassion by enjoying delicious plant-based foods that nourish
our bodies and our souls.

4. This Week’s Bible
Verse
(RSV) Proverbs 11:3
“The integrity of the
upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys
them.”
The animal agriculture industry is not particularly
known for its integrity but for its deceiving nature. Supporting it
makes us accomplices of their deceit and destruction on God’s
Creation.
5. Why Nobody Should Eat Turkeys
Turkeys are amazing creatures with rich emotional lives. They suffer
tremendously when raised for food and their suffering goes mostly
unnoticed. These are 12 reasons to help people understand why turkeys
should not be part of the menu:
1) Newborn turkeys search and
call for their mothers, and never get to be with them
2) Turkeys
love to be petted
3) Turkeys form deep friendships and emotional
bonds
4) Turkeys are sexually molested and abused
5) Young
turkeys are brutally mutilated without painkiller
6) Life on
factory farms (including many “free range” farms) is living hell
7) Domestic turkeys still share much in common with wild turkeys
8) Turkeys suffer horribly during transport and slaughter
9)
Nearly 1 million turkeys and chickens “accidentally” boiled alive
every year in U.S.
10) “Humane” Turkey Slaughter Isn’t Humane
11) Compassion toward all animals doesn’t have to be taught; it is
only untaught. Which lesson are you teaching your kids this
Thanksgiving?

12 Reasons You May Never Want to Eat Turkey Again and share!
Thanksgiving is the reason why the massacre of turkeys takes place.
Taste and tradition, not compassion and mercy reign over Thanksgiving
meals. There should be no turkeys, or any other of God’s animals, on
the dinner menu; especially in a Christian household where our faith
calls us to show compassion and kindness to all creatures.
6. This Week’s Video: “Grace”
Thanksgiving
is around the corner and we need to let everyone know that asking God
to bless a meal that involved unnecessary suffering is incompatible
with a compassionate and merciful lifestyle. This ad exemplifies this
clear inconsistence, where one honest little girl tells it like it
really is for turkeys when she is asked to say grace around her
family's dinner table.
