1. How to Curb Global Warming
In order to reduce the
emissions of greenhouse gases it’s imperative to decrease, or better
yet, to eliminate animal products. It turns out that methane, a gas
produced by raising livestock, is much more potent than carbon
dioxide; and that therefore, a very efficient way to reduce global
warming is to stop raising animals for food. Aside from this issue,
the amount of natural resources such as water and land used by the ag
industry is very wasteful.

There’s no
better way to curb global warming than to show compassion and love to
all creatures! In this way, we do not only help restore the
environment but also we also apply Christ’s teachings every time we
sit for a meal.
2. This Week’s Famous Quote
What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror
reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.
~ Mahatma Gandhi
3. Leave Meat Off Your Plate to
Help the Planet
As the world population increases so does the
demand for food putting enormous pressure on the planet and the need
to manage resources properly, especially land. With more people around
the world eating animal products, the demand of grain also increases.
Scientists now warn that the planet cannot possibly produce the amount
of crops needed to feed people by 2050 on a meat and dairy diet. They
say that switching to a plant-based diet will help tremendously.

Every day
we make a statement with our meals. We either say we support
compassion, sustainability, health and peace, or we that we support
God’s animal abuse, devastation of God’s Creation and disease. Our
choice of meals is a way to honor God and to follow the faith of
Christ.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV)
Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his transgressions will not
prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
We all transgress simply because it’s our human nature; however,
we can try to minimize causing pain and devastation to ourselves and
to others by recognizing our mistakes. While guilt is not a very good
motivator, accountability is. So, by forsaking those actions and
decisions that clearly hurt others and choosing compassion, we are
following God’s will.

grave concerns about global warming and the devastation it’s causing
on the planet, especially on the poor and the hungry.
