3. Slaughterhouse Horror
Slaughterhouses have been in the spotlight many times in just the last few years for their egregious abuse to animals. According to the Humane Slaughter Act --under which poultry is not covered-- animals should be slaughtered in a way “that causes a minimum of excitement, pain, injury, or discomfort.” However, numerous undercover videos by animal activists and workers, and reports by inspectors show that animals continue to experience abuse, pain, suffering and fear.Please visit Abuse Persists at Some Slaughter Plants:

Slaughterhouse: house of slaughter. Just the name should drive us away from having such places in God’s Creation.

1 Timothy 4:7-8
Have nothing to do with godless and silly myths. Train yourself in godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
How can we train in godliness? By following the Faith of Christ, which is centered on compassion, mercy and love toward all of God’s creatures.

Everything comes down to showing compassion and love to our fellow beings. After all, we could prevent so much suffering, devastation and disease simply by looking at our food choices in a critical and mindful way. Only then we realize that supporting the unnecessary abuse and killing of God’s animals leads to nothing that would honor God or ourselves.
