1. Pledge Vegan!

health and help restore the environment? Then, pledge vegan!! Adopting
a plant-based diet might be the most life-changing decision anyone can
make due to its countless benefits on all of God’s Creation. Going

2. This Week’s Famous Quote
"I
cannot fish without falling a little in self-respect...always when I
have done I feel it would have been better if I had not fished."
~ Henry David Thoreau, author
3. Meatless
Mondays is Spreading
Evanston Township High School is the
first Chicago-area high school to participate in the weekly Meatless
Mondays campaign that is spreading around the country. About 50
percent of entrees offered on Mondays are meatless, such us tofu
stir-fry and black bean burgers. Meatless Monday encourages a
sustainable, compassionate and healthy lifestyle.

It's fantastic that Meatless Monday is spreading in so many
schools around the country! I truly believe that when children and
teenagers are exposed to the devastation, cruelty and disease that
consuming animal products involve, they are likely to embrace a
plant-based diet.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my
path.
Following Jesus’ teachings guide and help us
live according to God’s will; and in turn we reflect His/Her love and
compassion onto all Creation.
5. A Look into a Not-So-Far
Future
Meat-eaters, pay attention! It seems that if we ever
colonize other planets, the inhabitants are going to be only
vegetarian. At least that’s what Elon Musk, US billionaire, co-founder
of PayPal and considered one of America’s most respected private space
entrepreneurs, believes. He announced plans to build a settlement for
80,000 people on Mars as long as the inhabitants are vegetarian. The
technology to make this trip possible might be available in the next
decade.

We might have learnt the most important lesson of all. If we are
to live in a harmonious, sustainable and joyous planet, animal
agriculture does not have a place in it. Eating animals devastates
God’s Creation and sustains the most egregious and voluminous cruelty
on Earth.
