1. Vegetarians Live Longer (Of Course!)
More scientific evidence indicates that vegetarian diets can
extend life expectancy. The findings of the Adventist Health Study-2,
an ongoing study that includes more than 96,000 participants, conclude
that vegetarian men live to an average of 83.3 years, compared with
nonvegetarian men who live to an average of 73.8 years. And vegetarian
women live to an average of 85.7 years, which is 6.1 years longer than
nonvegetarian women.

I think the results of numerous
studies say it all: Plant-based diets are good for our bodies, God's
creations.
2. This Week’s Famous Quote
One day
the absurdity of the almost universal human belief in the slavery of
other animals will be palpable. We shall then have discovered our
souls and become worthier of sharing this planet with them.
~
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
3. Cow’s Milk Consumption on
the Decline
Cow’s milk sales are the lowest levels in 30
years. More Americans are substituting cow’s milk for other beverages,
such as non-dairy milks (almond, soy, coconut, etc.) and other bottled
beverages. One of the reasons is that consumers are worried about the
hormones and antibiotics in cow’s milk.

More and
more people every day are waking up to the fact that humans have
absolutely no need for the milk of any other species. Cow’s milk is
perfect food for baby cows, who are abused by the dairy industry just
so humans can have the milk intended for them. Dairy alternatives are
abundant, healthy, tasty, and most of all cruelty-free!
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) Genesis 1:21
“So God
created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves,
with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every
winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
Every creature is God’s creation; therefore, we all have the same
source: one of love. Actively alleviating suffering and contributing
to healing and restoration on Earth helps us reflect God’s love onto
all Creation!
5. Animal Products Linked to Early Puberty
in Humans
The results of a new study in Journal of Nutrition
indicates that a diet high in animal products promotes early puberty
in children, which in turn is associated with higher rates of prostate
and breast cancer.

Our
bodies are amazing and complex! They have been designed by a loving
Creator in a way that the vast majority of us don't need to eat animal
products to live healthy, joyful lives. So when we kill animals and
eat them, many are the negative consequences with which we have to
deal. It's much easier and more honoring to God to do our best to
adhere to the ideal diet for us: a plant-based one.
6. This Week’s Video: Heart Attacks and Cholesterol Purely a
Question of Diet
As Dr. Michael Greger explains, swapping
white meat for red meat may not affect cholesterol levels as shown in
scientific studies (http://1.usa.gov/QxPN9W).
The answer, to significantly reduce cholesterol levels is to move
toward a plant-based diet.
