1. Farmed Animals Also Need an ER
Farm Sanctuary has a new
place where severely injured and disabled farmed animals at the hands
of the factory farm industry are welcome and nursed back to health.
This place is Melrose Small Animal Hospital, an ER for farmed animals,
who otherwise would surely meet a fearful and painful death. The
systematic, legal and standard practices that farmed animals are
subjected to (hyper-confinement, mutilations without anesthesia,
electric prodding, beatings, filth, etc.) leave too many animals
barely clinging for their lives. However, Farm Sanctuary rescues some
of these animals, nurses them to health and welcomes them as
ambassadors for the rest of farmed animals. These fortunate ones are
touched by people who see all animals as sentient beings who deserve
to live and peace and in freedom. To read the full article and to
watch a slideshow of the rescued farmed animals before and after their
care please visit

Farm
Sanctuary is doing an incredible job at exposing the horrific animal
agriculture industry while at the same time offering a safe haven for
abused farmed animals. Those who still consume animal products need to
be confronted with the brutal reality these animals endure and also to
the many devastating consequences this industry brings to all of God's
Creation.
2. This Week’s Famous Quote
I know you are
asking today, 'How long will it take?'....
I come to say to you
this afternoon, however difficult the moment, however frustrating the
hour, it will not be long, because truth crushed to earth will rise
again.
How long? Not long, because no lie can live forever.
How long? Not long, because you shall reap what you sow....
How long? Not long, because the arc of the moral universe is
long, but it bends toward justice.
- Dr. Martin Luther King, March 25,
1965, on the steps of the Alabama State Capitol
3. More
Developments on Wyoming Premium Farms Undercover Video
The new
undercover video showing egregious acts of cruelty at Wyoming Premium
Farms has led Tyson Foods to suspend purchases from this farm. Paul
Shapiro of the Humane Society of the United States explains what this
means in terms of alleviating animal suffering and the pressure this
exerts on Tyson Foods to stop buying from farms that keep sows in
gestation crates. Please visit

to Suspend Purchases from Wyoming Premium Farms:

The more
we, advocates of God's animals, expose the victimization of farmed
animals in the hands of the animal agriculture industry, the more
people will realize that eating animal products supports unimaginable
cruelty. Although not keeping sows in gestation crates would alleviate
somewhat their suffering, ultimately we should seek the complete
liberation of these animals. For as long as we keep exploiting God's
animals for taste and profit, there will be no healing or peace on
Earth.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am
your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you
with my victorious right hand.
Sometimes it’s hard not to be dismayed
when we witness so much unnecessary suffering in the world. It’s
during these times that we should remember our Creator strengthens us
so we continue our job as healers and restorers.
