1. One Life Spared from Slaughter
How uplifting it is to learn
that the life of an animal who was meant to be food was spared the
horror of being slaughtered! This is the true story of a young stee,
who fled from a slaughterhouse with all his might avoiding police and
even crossing a river swimming until he finally was caught.
Thankfully, the steer has been taken to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary where
he will be loved and his right to live respected.

2. This
Week’s Famous Quote
To argue with a person
who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to
the dead.
~Thomas Paine (1737 - 1809) was an English-American author,
intellectual, revolutionary, and one of the Founding Fathers of the
United States.
3. Taste and Profit Are Not Worth This Misery
Nicholas D. Kristof, a columnist for The New York Times, reviewed
the footage of the
undercover video released by The Humane Society of the United
States, showing unimaginable suffering at a Pennsylvania egg-laying
facility. The undercover investigator witnessed up to 11 hens crammed
into 2 feet by 2 feet cages, being decapitated by an automated feeding
cart and dead birds left for weeks rotting among the live birds among
other atrocities.

The abuse humanity
inflicts on God’s farmed animals is hard to even imagine. Thanks to
courageous undercover investigators the atrocities egg-laying hens are
subjected to every second of their miserable lives are exposed for the
public to see. Hopefully, the exposure of the victimization of these
animals will touch people hearts so they stop supporting the egg
industry.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) 1
Chronicles 16:34
O give thanks to the LORD, for he is
good; for his steadfast love endures for ever!
God's love, which is
in each and everyone, helps us endure obstacles and difficulties even
when they seem insurmountable. At the same time, when we reflect God's
love onto all Creation, we are honor and celebrate life!

More Horrors in Hatcheries
Shockingly, Ideal Poultry Breeding
Farms uses baby chicks as packing filler, packing peanuts, so that the
birds who are actually ordered can stay warm. Seemingly, baby chicks
are a disposable commodity, who can be used and abused without legal
consequences because chickens are not protected by the Federal Animal
Welfare Act in the United States.

It's indeed shocking,
horrifying and heart-breaking that God's creatures, in this case
babies!, are treated as if they deserved pain, suffering and death. We
must not forget that when we cause suffering to any creature, we are
hurting ourselves in the process. The desensitization that humanity
has undergone in order to turn other creatures into commodities has
brought many negative consequences that unfortunately we currently
face and will continue to do so until we show respect, reverence and
compassion to all forms of life.
6. This Week’s Video: Undercover Footage at Wyoming Premium Farms
Once again… (big sigh)… a new undercover video at "Wyoming Premium
Farms", a Wyoming pig breeding facility owned by a supplier for Tyson
Foods, reveals egregious cruelty and filthy conditions. My heart goes
to these poor innocent animals, the undercover investigator that has
the guts to witness and expose this victimization and to the workers
who also suffer tremendously.
