1. Plant-Based Foods Are Good for Our Mental State
Plant-based diets seem to affect the mental state of people by
reducing stress and improving the mood after just 2 weeks!

It should be of no
surprise that a plant-based diet is good for our mental state. Do we
really believe that eating the flesh and secretions of abused farmed
animals does not have any negative effects on us? Just by
acknowledging that God’s farmed animals suffer unimaginable pain and
fear should make us think twice about putting them in our bodies. In a
sense, we become what we eat.
Most people, upon adopting a
plant-based diet feel liberated and rejoice in being part of life’s
celebration! … a celebration of compassion, love, respect and
reverence for God’s Creation.
2. This Week’s Famous Quote
To know is not enough. You must apply.
~ Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832), German writer, pictorial artist,
biologist, theoretical physicist, and polymath.
3. Dairy
Products Not Good For Bone Health
According to a new study
published in Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, dairy
intake and calcium do not prevent stress fractures. The study
comprised adolescent girls followed for seven years. Their diets,
physical activity, and stress fractures were tracked, and the results
indicated that the girls consuming the most dairy products and calcium
had not only no added protection, but among the most active girls, who
got the most calcium in their diets (coming mostly from dairy
products), had more than double the risk of a stress fracture,
compared with those getting less calcium. Please visit

Cows produce
milk for the same reason humans do: for their babies. Cow's milk is
designed for a calf, who grows several hundred pounds in less than a
year. The dairy industry enslaves dairy cows, steals their babies,
steals their milk, and finally slaughters them when their milk
production decreases and are too worn out from giving milk and having
babies. How can this be healthy for our bodies, our minds and our
souls? Many plant-based foods such as collard greens and kale are
loaded with calcium, as well as plant-based milks (soy, almond, rice,
etc.) Dairy is certainly not needed at all in a human diet.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV)
2 Chronicles 15:7
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work
shall be rewarded.
As stewards of God’s Creation we often
feel the burden of the suffering and devastation we witness and the
powerless we sometimes feel when we cannot right all wrongs. However,
at the same time, we feel the joy of living in a compassionate life by
celebrating it to the fullest. Living our life purpose is, indeed,
very rewarding.
5. Report on Resistance Bacteria in Meat
The 2010 Retail Meat Report from the National Antimicrobial Resistance
Monitoring System issued by the Food and Drug Administration, shows
results of testing on 5,280 meat samples collected in 2010 in
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, New
Mexico, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. The results are
very worrisome. They show a number of instances where a percentage of
Salmonella, E. Coli and Campylobacter are antibiotic resistant,
especially in turkey and chicken meat.

What
goes around comes around. We keep God’s farmed animals under extreme
confinement, pain and fear in factory farms. And these factory farms
are the perfect vessels for bacteria and viruses to rotate, combine
and mutate. Unless we wake up to this reality, we might be close to an
unprecedented epidemic that we may not be able to control.

Book Recommendation
John Robbins, vegan author of many
best-sellers including “Diet for a New America” has written a new book
titled “"No Happy Cows: Dispatches from the Frontlines of the Food
Revolution", where he shares his undercover investigations of feed
lots and slaughterhouses, the valuable research his done on the rise
of food contamination, the slave trade behind chocolate and coffee,
