1. Vegan Diets for Kids: The Way to Go!!
Kathy Freston, bestselling author with a focus on healthy living and
conscious eating, highlights the many benefits of raising vegan kids.
Plenty of scientific evidence indicates that a well-balanced plant-based
diet has advantages over the typical American diet laden with animal
products, and Kathy Freston shares tips to "veganize" favorite family
dishes and make sure children get all the nutrients their growing bodies
need. To read the article please visit Vegan: Great For Kids!

Raising children on a plant-based diet is a win-win situation! It’s
healthy, encourages compassion, love and stewardship; and guides them
into a path of fulfilling joy and obedience to our Creator.
2. This Week’s Famous Quote
"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth --
beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself
to be to other animals -- would you concede them the rights over you
that you assume over other animals?"
~ George Bernard Shaw, playwright, Nobel Prize 1925
3. Meat Linked to Diabetes
Tom Philpott, food and ag blogger for Mother Jones, raises the safety
issues with meat production in relation to the high rates of diabetes in
our country. Philpott cites recent studies that link certain toxic
substances called POPs (persistent organic pollutants) to diabetes,
which enter our meat supply through unethical practices like the ones
Monsanto uses, and get concentrated and recycled when the ag industry
engages in the shameful standard practices of feeding chickens to cows
and cows to cows. To read the article please visit Is Your Meat Habit
Giving You Diabetes?

Unethical, untrustworthy and corrupt are some of the words that
describe the animal agriculture industry. They have shown time and time
again that they lack respect and concern for human health, for the state
of the environment and obviously for the suffering of farmed animals.
Evident as this is, isn’t it dumbfounding that most Christian leaders
and their followers still support the meat, egg and dairy industries? We
have to do everything in our power to change hearts and minds in order
to encourage Christians to be true followers of Christ’s teachings.
4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) Ps. 34:14
"Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it."
It is not possible to seek peace while causing suffering, pain and
death to God's animals. A peaceful world is a loving world, where all
creatures coexist without exploiting one another. A crucial step to
achieve this is to transition to a plant-based diet.
5. Interview with Ultramarathoner Scott Jurek
Scott Jurek, vegan ultra ultramarathoner, record holder for the
24-hour run, twice winner of the Badwater race and winner of the
100-mile Western States Endurance Run seven times is certainly a great
example that a well-balanced plant-based diet is ideal for an athlete.
In this interview, Jurek shares how he became vegan, what were the main
reasons behind it, how this affected his performance as an athlete and
much more. Please visit In It For the Long Run: Vegan Ultramarathoner

Health Program
EarthSave founder and acclaimed author John Robbins, speaks in this
video about EarthSave's groundbreaking Meals for Health program, a
30-day intervention program where low-income people are taught to eat a
healthy plant-based diet, and in the process lose weight and reverse
serious chronic illnesses.
John Robbins beautifully and clearly explains how a plant-based diet
brings healing, peace, love, compassion, harmony, justice and
restoration into a world that has gone astray but that is finding its
way back. In his own words: "We are all connected." Please visit John
