1. Global Warming and Meat-Based Diets
This excellent article deals with the devastating effects of global
warming and the increasing demand for meat-based foods. This in turn,
could result in climate change, water scarcity and population
displacement among others issues. To read the full article please visit

Modern agriculture contributes greatly to global warming. Some
studies show this number to be 50%. Unless humanity decides to make
changes soon, future generations will face many hardships due to are
carelessness and irresponsibility. Being good stewards of God’s Creation
should lead us to transition to a plant-based diet in order to help
reduce global warming gases.
2. Famous Quote
"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of
changing himself."
~ Leo Tolstoy (1828 - 1910) Russian Novelist, Poet, Ethicist
3. Animal Agriculture Pollutes Chesapeake Bay
Animal agriculture is polluting and destroying aquatic life in the
Chesapeake Bay. The many nutrients brought into the Chesapeake drainage
in the form of grain to feed cattle, pigs and poultry in Pennsylvania,
Maryland and Virginia are finding their way back into the bay. Farmed
animals only convert about a quarter of the nutrients in the grain into
meat, milk and eggs, and the remainder is left in their manure in the
form of nitrogen and phosphorous. These elements fuel explosive blooms
of algae that prevent sunlight from reaching the bay's bottom and absorb
virtually all oxygen available in the water. To read the full article

Chesapeake nutrient imbalance must be addressed
Animal agriculture is taking a heavy toll on God’s Creation. The
environmental devastation humanity is causing for profit and taste is
causing misery throughout the Earth. While most humans continue to
ignore the plight of God’s animals, the planet is showing clear signs of
trouble, that unless a change of heart and consciousness is evident
through actions, it might be too late for the generations to come.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) 2 Thessalonians 1:3
We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, as is
fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every
one of you for one another is increasing.
As our faith increases and we grow spiritually, also the love we have
for one another increases. In turn, we reflect God's love for all beings
in abundance and we actively participate in the reconciliation of
Creation.
5. United Egg Producers’ New Vision
United Egg Producers (UEP) has developed and released their new "U.S.
Egg Industry Sustainability Vision" that, among other things, is looking
into advancing industry and producer social responsibilities. According
to the UEP, feeding a growing world with nutritious, safe and affordable
food is "a critical responsibility" for U.S. egg producers. UEP plans to
build this new goal on the premises of environmental stewardship. To
read the article please search online for Egg
producers release vision
The UEP is an unethical organization that, while claiming to care for
animal welfare, environmental stewardship and human health, causes
unimaginable suffering to egg-laying hens and their chicks. Debeaking,
disposing of male chicks, intense confinement, abuse by workers, forced
molting, transportation without food or water under any weather and
painful slaughter, are some of the “procedures” used by this industry
that chickens undergo. Moreover, eggs are high in cholesterol, a fact
that doesn't make them a healthy option in a country that is plagued by
heart disease. The egg industry also abuses the use of antibiotics,
which contribute to bacterial resistance. Environmentally speaking, the
egg industry uses enormous amounts of resources (water, grain and fossil
fuels) that could be used for better purposes. It also contributes to
water, soil and air pollution. While the UEP tries to put a front to
cover the extensive damage it's causing to God's Creation, Christians
should see through it and make a choice based on true stewardship of
God's Creation.

Watch this very informative short video that clearly and concisely
explains from a Biblical perspective why plant-based diets represent
good stewardship of all of God’s Creation: humans, animals and the
environment.
