1. Vegan Vacation
Read about the author's experience when he decides to spend some time
at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY, where he learned about the
inherent cruelty of factory farming. Thousands of people visit Farm
Sanctuary every year ad many return for more visits. He also met some of
the farm "ambassadors", formerly factory farmed animals that got a
second chance at Farm Sanctuary. Although the author is not a
vegetarian, he learns that vegan food can be delicious and nutritious.
In fact, on his way home, he decides to pay tribute to his visit and
stops at a Burger King restaurant to order a veggie burger. To read the

Watkins Glen offers a vegan vacation
How fantastic is the role of Farm Sanctuary for those who have the
chance to visit their farm and get a hand-on experience about factory
farming and the sentient animals it deeply abuses. If more people
stopped a minute to think about factory farming and what it entails, and
also learn about the lives of these animals, for sure many more would
transition to a plant-based diet.
2. Famous Quote
"As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there
can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Slaughter and
justice cannot dwell together."
—Isaac Bashevis Singer, writer and Nobel laureate (1902–1991)
3. What Do Labels Really Mean?
Animal advocate Sarah Hanneken explains why eating animal products
contributes invariable to the abuse of animals being farmed. She also
emphasizes that many of the labels used to sway consumers such as
"antibiotic and hormone free" or "cage-free" do not mean free of
exploitation and suggests that the consumer should read between labels
and become informed in order to not fall pray of the animal agriculture
industry. To read the full article please visit

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalms 72: 13 - 14
"He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the
needy. From oppression and violence he redeems their life; and precious
is their blood in his sight."
Our Creator is a loving and compassionate God who cares for all
creatures. In today’s world, animals are among the weak and needy, and
often victimized by humans. Jesus’ teachings encourage us to protect,
love, and relieve them from their oppressors. A plant-based diet helps
us alleviate their suffering and free them from their torment.
5. Meat Eating and Bestiality
When people think of factory farms, or even animal products, they
rarely think of the inherent cruelty of raising animals for food. This
article highlights one of the predominant forms of abuse in factory
farms: bestiality. Very sadly, factory farmed animals endure not only
confinement, mutilations without anesthesia, beatings, fear, etc., but
also brutal artificial insemination at the hands of unskilled workers
and acts of bestiality at the hands of sadistic individuals. To read the
full article please visit Does Eating Meat
Support Bestiality?
It’s appalling and almost unbelievable to learn about the extent of
pain and suffering that factory farmed animals must endure. The meat,
dairy and egg industries make a mockery of God’s love for animals.
