1. What a Vegan is Really Thinking
A vegan person (unknown author) shares what he/she feels when eating
with his/her non-vegetarian friends. This person shares that his/her
thoughts usually fall on the animal flesh his/her friends are eating and
wonders why his/her friends, who are intelligent, thinking people
actually eat the flesh of dead animals. The author acknowledges that at
that point - food - it seems that where their ethics vanish. "They
recycle, eschew the use of cars, buy fair-trade coffee and bananas, use
environmentally friendly detergent," the author shares, "But when it
comes to the moral and environmental issue of meat consumption, their
desire for food they enjoy the taste of, the sensual pleasure it gives
them, overrides any ethical considerations."

2. Famous Quote
“What is so beneficial to the people as liberty, which we see not
only to be greedily sought after by men, but also by beasts, and to be
preferred to all things.”
~ Cicero (B.C. 106-43)
3. Positive or Negative Veg*n?
John Davis, International Vegetarian Union manager, highlights the
very important task of being a positive rather than a negative
vegetarian in the way we depict our diet. He suggests focusing on the
benefits of a plant-based diet instead of focusing on the fact we do not
eat meat. He refers to examples such us: I am not 'non-Asian', I
am European; I am not a 'non-smoker', I am someone who demands the right
to breathe clean air; and - and I am not a 'non-meat-eater', I am
someone who chooses plant foods, which is what 'vegetarian' originally
meant.

Are You A Positive or A Negative Veg*n?
It is very important to emphasize on the wonderful benefits of
vegetarianism for all of God's Creation, instead of focusing on what we
decide not to eat. This way, people might feel more attracted to our
choice of diet and see it as what really is: a path to reconciling God's
creatures while restoring our health and God's Earth.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalm 119:130
"The unfolding of thy words gives light; it imparts understanding to
the simple."
Sometimes we think that being obedient to God in certain areas of our
lives is unattainable. However, God's words are there to lead us and
help us understand our calling and our path. Once we apply God's wisdom
to our daily lives, everything seems clearer and simpler.
5. Making the Case for Vegetarianism
Bruce Friedrich, PETA's Vice-President, shares in this article how
students react during his debates with meat-eating advocates at
Universities around the US and what are the arguments he uses to explain
the inherent cruelty of factory farming as well as the devastating
effect is has on our bodies and the environment.

animals is indefensible
Meat-eating is indefensible from ethical, spiritual, environmental
and health perspectives. Especially, as stewards of God's Creation who
strive to emulate Jesus' lifestyle of compassion, mercy and love, animal
products should not be part of our diet.
