1. Hundreds of Bluefin Tuna Released
The bluefin tuna, one of the most valuable but endangered fish in the
Mediterranean, have been driven almost to extinction by industrial
fishing to the point that are now unlikely to survive more than a few
more years. In an attempt to save hundreds of these fish and to raise
awareness on this issue, Sea Shepherd activists release 800 hundred of
threatened bluefin tuna which they strongly suspect were illegally
caught off the Libyan coast.

Industrial fishing has decimated aquatic fauna to the point where we
might lose for ever innumerable species in the next few years. Profit
and taste has driven this industry in a blind race, forgetting or
choosing to ignore, the suffering and devastation left behind. As
stewards of God's Creation we need to make it clear that we do not agree
with the exploitation of God's animals and the consequences this brings
onto the environment by refusing to support these industries.

"The only thing we have to fear on this planet is man."
~ Carl Jung (1875-1961), Swiss psychiatrist
3. “The End of the Line”
A new fantastic documentary on the devastation overfishing is causing
in the oceans is available on DVD. “The End of the Line” is a gripping
and sobering documentary that British filmmaker Rupert Murray has
created for anyone who is concerned about the state of the oceans. The
film is a call to action that makes the case that the earth's oceans
must be preserved for future generations while encouraging the viewer to
ponder about the fish they eat.

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalm 119:105
"Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path"
Following Jesus’ teachings guide and help us live according to God’s
will; and in turn we reflect His/Her love for all Creation.
5. Making Cows More Like Kangaroos
The Australian government, along with the meat industry, is investing
in a $24 million campaign to reduce cattle burping, which releases
methane and contributes to global warming. The objective is to change
the ruminants’ diet to make them less gassy. This research is going on
at the new $28 million Center for Advanced Animal Science, where
scientists are trying to make cows more like kangaroos, in the sense
that these animals also eat grass but release virtually no methane.

In order to reduce global warming gases, common sense dictates to
reduce the number of cattle, instead of spending million of dollars
manipulating these animals. However, profit and taste seem to trump
common sense. As stewards of God's Creation we should act according to
our Faith, which is founded in principles of compassion, mercy, justice
and love. Reducing the number of animals for food shows compassion to
God's animals and helps restore the environment.
