1. Opinion on Vegan Processed Foods
While the author of this article, Virginia Messina MPH, RD, agrees
that a well-balanced plant-based diet should be based on whole foods;
however, she defends the occasional intake of vegan processed foods in
order to make the transition to a veg diet easier and also to support
those industries that are helping make this world a more compassionate
one. To read the full article please search online for

2. Famous Quote
"The joy is that we can take back our bodies, reclaim our health,
and restore ourselves to balance. We can take power over what and how we
eat. We can rejuvenate and recharge ourselves, bringing healing to the
wounds we carry inside us, and bringing to fuller life the wonderful
person that each of us can be."
— John Robbins, author of "Diet of a New America"
3. Vegetables Increase Ovarian Cancer Survival Rates
According to a new study in the Journal of the American Dietetic
Association (ADD), women with the highest fruit and vegetable intakes
have better ovarian cancer survival rates than those who generally
neglected these foods. The study comprised 341 Illinois women and
researchers found that yellow and cruciferous vegetables, in particular,
contributed to longer survival, whereas consumption of dairy products
and red and processed meats shortened lifespan. To read the full article

It is not surprising that once again, research shows that eating a
plant-based diet is good for our health. By adopting a plant-based diet
we are not only being good stewards of our bodies, but we are also
showing compassion to God’s animals and stewardship of the environment.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalm 19:1-2
The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims
his handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night
declares knowledge. God's voice is always speaking. His witnesses give
testimony to his glory, majesty and creative grace. The universe shouts
with joy because behind it's intricate beauty and power is the One who
gave it life, purpose, and intention.
Creation shouts God's glory and majesty! God's purposeful intention,
creativity and love behind every creature, every plant and every rock
should inspire us to be good stewards of God's Creation.
5. Phenomenal Vegetarian Athlete: Jake Shields

Once again a top ranked athlete teaches us that a well-balanced
plant-based diet is optimal for human health. It is through people like
Shields that the myths surrounding a vegetarian lifestyle are dismissed,
and in their place are left the many benefits of a plant-based diet for
all of God's Creation: humans, animals and the environment.
6. This Week’s Video: Part II of Rip Esselstyn on
Dr. Oz Show
Previously we showcased the video of firefighter Rip Esselstyn's
appearance on Dr. Oz in January that featured three sick, out of shape
Chicago firemen, who were asked to transition to a healthy vegan diet in
order to regain their health. After 60 days on a healthy vegan diet the
firemen's health showed remarkable improvements. From losing weight to
an increased energy level, the three firemen share what a life-changing
experience it had been. Please search online for
