1. Dangerous PCB Levels in Fish Oil Supplements
A lawsuit brought by environmentalists in California claims popular
brands of fish oil dietary supplements contain unsafe and illegal levels
of the carcinogenic chemicals known as polychlorinated biphenyls, or
PCBs. The lawsuit targeted CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, General Nutrition
Corp., Solgar, Twinlab, Now Health, Omega Protein and Pharmavite for
alleged violations of California's Proposition 65, which requires that
consumers be warned about chemical exposures.

Lawsuit: Disclose PCB levels in fish oil
Integrity is not something that many of the food and drug industries
are known for. Many people believe that they need fish oil supplements
for a healthy life; however, a well-plant based diet supplies everything
a human needs without the need to exploit God's animals.

“If you are a Christian, you are not a citizen of this
world trying to get to Heaven. You are a citizen of Heaven making your
way through this world.”

3. Veg Diet is Good for Bones
According to a study in this month's British Journal of Nutrition,
animal protein is associated with decreased bone health. The study
comprised 757 girls with an average age of 10 years, who were randomly
assigned to a group consuming cow's milk fortified with calcium, one
consuming cow’s milk fortified with calcium and vitamin D, or a third
group that served as controls and made no changes. Bone mass was
measured at the beginning of the study and at different intervals.
Animal protein, especially from meat and eggs, was found to decrease
bone mineral density and content.

Scientific studies are indeed providing more and more grounds for
leaving animal products off of our plates. Our health, God's animals and
the environment benefit with our transition to a plant-based diet.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) James 3:17-18
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to
reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or
insincerity. And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those
who make peace.
When we follow and practice the wisdom of God we find ourselves
acting in compassion, mercy and love; there is no longer room for
selfishness, arrogance and tyranny. Instead, we find we act as
peacemakers in God's Creation bringing reconciliation to it.
5. Helping to Feed the Poor and the Hungry
People of faith might disagree on theological issues; however, as
this article point out, all of us agree that hunger is something we need
to help make a thing of the past. To feed the hungry and the poor is at
the core of our beliefs and it shouldn’t surprise us that transitioning
to a plant-based diet could help solve this issue. Just in the US,
almost three-fourths of all the grain is fed to animas being farmed. If
people ate less meat, dairy and eggs, more grain could be freed in order
to help feed the poor and the hungry.

6. This Week’s Video: Major Food Bank’s Veg
Program
A major food bank in the US, the Sacramento Food Bank in California,
is embarking on a 100% plant-based program (with the help of the
non-profit organization EarthSave) to help some of its sickest
clients. This program will serve as a model to show other food banks and
the society in general that diet is a powerful healing tool.
