1. Bald Therapy Chickens
This is the heart-warming story that takes place in Cobble Hills Farm
Sanctuary, a rescue farm in Ontario, Canada that gave a new life to 20
chickens from battery cages. Although bald and miserable-looking
creatures who are afraid of everything, they are already helping
troubled kids to develop empathy. Once a week these chickens are being
used as therapy animals to treat four boys, aged 8 to 12. "But they were
already so gentle with them, right from the start," ... "They worry if
the chickens are afraid or if a sweater is too tight," says Shepherd,
who runs the sanctuary.

Sometimes the weakest creatures are the ones who can teach us the
most valuable lessons and can also inspire in us the innate Christ-like
values: love, compassion and mercy.
2. Famous Quote
“When I met my first vegetarian, he told me he had not eaten
meat for fourteen years. I looked at him as if he had managed to hold
his breath that entire time. Today I know there is nothing rigorous or
strange about eating a diet that excludes meat.”
~Erik Marcus, Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating, 1998
3. A Happy Ending
Angelo, a newborn lamb, was rescued even as his mother was led to a
Bronx slaughterhouse last week. The lamb was rescued by Ms. Rexhaj who
noticed that Angelo, an infant, was at risk of being trampled or left
behind to starve. Ms. Rexhaj pleaded the truck driver to leave the lamb
with her after he denied to her request to try reuniting the mother with
her lamb.

A Newborn Lamb Is Saved, Then Orphaned
How miserably we treat God's animals! Because of humanity's desire
for cheap meat, dairy and eggs we deny farmed animals even the basic
God-given instincts and rights, such as to take care of their offspring.
4. Bible Quote
(RSV) Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
God’s word guides us in our journey to follow Jesus’ teachings of
compassion, mercy, love and justice. By showing obedience to God, we
reset assured that we are following the path of a fulfilling and
God-honoring life.
5. Shocking Cruelty in Vermont Slaughter Plant
The shocking undercover video released by the Humane Society of the
United States (HSUS) showing egregious and merciless treatment to
days-old calves led to the closing of a slaughter plant in Vermont. The
extreme cruelty ranged from a worker attempting to skin a calf who is
still alive directly in front of a USDA inspector to the plant's
co-owner shocking downed calves with electric prods in futile attempts
to force them to stand. To read the full article please search online
