1. Swine Flu DVD
In this one-hour presentation, Dr. Michael Greger, director of Public
Health and Animal Agriculture in the farm animal welfare division of The
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), explores the role factory
farming played in the emergence of the current flu pandemic. It also
explains why the H1N1 virus is a poignant example of how the treatment
of animals can have global public health implications. To learn more

2. Famous Quote
"Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food."
~Hippocrates, the father of medicine
3. The Dangers of Antibiotic Overuse
The overuse of antibiotics in farmed animals has scientists and
consumers worried. Factory farmed animals are fed a constant dose of
antibiotics so they survive the deplorable conditions they are submitted
to. The result is the increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.
Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), a former microbiologist who has a
master's degree in public health, says, "If people don't believe in
evolution, they should look at staphylococcus. Your body used to be able
to take care of it. But now it can kill you. It's evolved." Her answer
is H.R. 1549: the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act
of 2009. The legislation's approach is very simple, Slaughter says: "The
bill preserves the seven most effective classes of antibiotics for human
use only. They can be used to treat sick animals, but they can't be used
to simply raise animals." To read the full article please search

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of
your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and
acceptable and perfect.
It's hard not to be influenced by our surroundings; however, God
calls us to be obedient to Him/Her and follow Jesus' teachings of
compassion, mercy and justice.
5. Veg Diets Reduce Risk of Polyps
According to new results from the Polyp Prevention Trial a high-fiber
diet may help prevent colon cancer. The results show that participants
who already had a polyp and were the most compliant to a
high-fruit-and-vegetable diet reduced their odds of polyp recurrence by
up to 35 percent and reduced their odds of advanced polyp recurrence
almost 50 percent. To read the full article please search online for

6. Cancer Prevention and Cure
Kathy Freston, author and Health and Wellness expert, interviews Dr.
T. Colin Campbell, Professor Emeritus of Cornell University and author
of the groundbreaking “The China Study”, who explains the mechanism
behind cancer and how plant-based diets really help in the prevention
and reversion of many cancers. To read the full article please search

Cure For Cancer? Eating A Plant-Based Diet
God's ideal diet for us is plant-based one, which is also the best
one for the environment and obviously also for farmed animals. While
modern medicine tries to tackle cancer with drugs, it would be wise not
to forget a holistic approach, where diet is one of the most important
aspects.
