2. Famous Quote
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness Thereof, Oh, God,
enlarge within us the Sense of fellowship with all living Things, our
brothers the animals to Whom Thou gavest the earth as Their home in
common with us . . . May we realize that they live not For us alone but
for themselves and For Thee and that they love the sweetness Of life.”
~ St. Basil, Bishop of Caesarea (330-379)
3. What is a Vegan Diet
Many people today are unaware of what a vegan diet is and what it
entails. This article explains clearly and concisely what a plant-based
diet involves and the main reasons behind it. As a plus, the author
added a list of famous vegetarian people as well as famous quotes
related to the subject. At the end of the article the reader can also
find a short video featuring Olympic medalist Carl Lewis sharing the
health benefits of a plant-based diet. Please visit What is a Vegan
Diet? What are the Benefits of Being Vegan?
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) John 3:17
For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but
that the world might be saved through him.
So many times we forget that we worship a God of love, mercy and
compassion, who gives us hope in the midst of suffering and despair, and
not a God of judgment and vengeance. Jesus is our best reminder of God's
love for all Creation!
5. Faith and Food
Not many people relate food and faith; however, both are intimately
linked. The article explores this relationship from the perspective of
different faiths, like the Christian and Jewish. The food we eat affects
our health, animals and the environment; and it is not surprising that
many organizations, like the Christian Vegetarian Association (CVA), are
growing rapidly. Steve Kaufman, a physician and chairman of the CVA,
said "Christians who take their faith seriously see it impacting their
entire life ... and that would include the food they eat."
