1. Hog Farmers More Dangerous than Bin Laden
Environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. affirmed that hog
producers are a far greater threat to the nation's future than Osama bin
Laden and his terror network. These words were pronounced during a
congressional subcommittee hearing earlier this month in reference to
the massive pollution hog farms produce in the US. To read the full
article and watch the video please visit RFK Jr.: Hog Farmers bigger
threat than Osama
2. Famous Quote
Modern man no longer regards Nature as being in any sense
divine and feels perfectly free to behave toward her as an overweening
conquerer and tyrant.
~ Aldous Huxley (1894-1963), English writer
3. Eat Your Greens for the Planet
This excellent article on Time magazine explores the relationship
between what we eat and global warming. When it comes to cutting your
carbon footprint, the reality is that what you eat is more important
than what you drive since modern agriculture contributes to about 30% of
global greenhouse-gas emissions, which is far more than transportation.
The lower you eat on the food chain, the better it is for the planet.
Reducing your carbon footprint is easy and cheaper than buying a hybrid
car. For example, one serving of steamed vegetables leaves a carbon
footprint of 0.18 lb., one serving of pasta 0.39 lb., one of cheese 2.26
lb and grilled steak 10.5 lb.

Eat Your Greens
Taking care of our planet is part of our sacred role as stewards of
God's Creation. Transitioning to a plant-base diet is one of the most
effective ways to help reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
4. (RSV) 1 John 4:19
We love because he [God] first loved us.
We are made in God's image of love. God loved us first and loves us
always! By showing love to all of God's Creation we are reflecting God's
love in us.
