1. Antibiotics Given to Farmed Animals Absorbed
by Vegetables
According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, nearly 70% of the
total antibiotics produced in the United States are fed to farmed
animals. Not surprisingly, scientists at the University of Minnesota
have discovered that those drugs are absorbed by vegetables such as
corn, potatoes and lettuce when grown in soil fertilized with livestock
manure.

Crops absorb livestock antibiotics, science
shows
The way humanity manipulates God's animals is causing tremendous harm
in God's Creation. Our health is affected, God's animals suffer and the
environment deteriorates. We might not know the full extent of the
damage that all these antibiotics are causing, but the little we know
suggest we need to show more responsibility to the sacred duty we have
as stewards of God's Creation.
2. “A human can be healthy without killing
animals for food. Therefore if he eats meat he participates in taking
animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.” ~ Leo Nikolaevich
Tolstoy (1828-1910), Russian moral thinker, novelist and philosopher.
3. Vegetarian and Overweight
Dr. McDougall, physician and nutrition expert, share his concern for
people who, out of compassion for animals or concern for the
environment, adopted a plant-based diet but not a nutritionally balance
one. He believes these people "labor tirelessly to protect the welfare
of all animals" but "have failed one important animal: themselves, by
not taking care of their bodies and becoming overweight. Dr. McDougall
shares some great tips to modify an already vegetarian diet into one
that is balanced and healthy for our bodies.

In order to be good stewards of God’s Creation we need to find a
balance in taking care of our bodies, God’s animals and the environment,
ideally not neglecting any of them.
4. (RSV) 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
If I speak in the tongues
of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging
cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and
all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but
have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver
my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
God is love and we are made in God's image of love. Unless we reflect
God's love onto all Creation, our lives will be empty and unfulfilled
and will bring no glory or honor to our Creator.
5. Vegetarian Internet Connection
According to the writer, Lauren Kawam, one of the main reasons that
more than 300,000 young people across America are adopting a plant-based
diet is the internet. The World Wide Web has made it possible to expose
to a great extent what is going behind industrial animal agriculture.
You tube, one of the most popular sites among young people, become the
perfect venue to inspire people to make a lifestyle change, for their
health, animals and the environment.
