1. More Evidence of Cow’s Milk Linked to Type I Diabetes: Marcia Goldfarb of Anatek-EP, a protein research laboratory in Portland, Maine, has found more evidence that cow’s milk proteins trigger type 1 diabetes. 3. High Saturated Fat Diets Have Negative Effects Prostatectomy: A new study showed that men who consumed a high saturated fat (HSF) diet were significantly more likely to have a biochemical failure following prostate cancer removal and a shorter biochemical-failure-free survival than men on a low saturated fat (LSF) diet. The study included 309 white patients at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center treated with prostatectomy. Five years after surgery, 80 percent of men who consumed an LSF diet were disease free, compared to 65 percent of men who consumed a HSF diet.

A well-balanced plant-based diet tends to be low in saturated fat and therefore helps to lower the risk of many diseases.

We are called to follow Christ's example by reflecting God's love in us onto all Creation. This is our most precious offering to God.

5. Growing Risk of Bird Flu Pandemic: According to 150 experts attending a meeting hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), the risk of a human influenza pandemic is growing as the bird flu virus becomes entrenched in poultry in more countries. So far, the H5N1 avian flu virus has infected birds in much of Asia, Africa and parts of Europe. The fear is that it could mutate into a form that passes easily from person to person that could kill millions.

As long as we keep exploiting God’s animals we are putting our health at risk and the one of future generations. We ought to do our best to show compassion and mercy to God’s animals and fulfill our sacred duty of stewards of God’s Creation.

6. What Most People Eat: A report done by Information Resources listed the 50 top largest product categories in food stores by sales dollars. That is which products people spend the most money on. Unfortunately, the results were discouraging since vegetables didn't show up to # 22, frozen vegetables were #33, and canned fruit was #39.
