3-Year-Old Killed at Los Alamitos; California at 24 Dead in 2020
An Animal Rights Article from All-Creatures.org
Thus far, 24 horses have been killed at California
tracks in 2020 – this, after a nightmare 2019 and the supposed reforms and
safety initiatives that came in its wake. In other words, they can’t stop
the killing. And they know it.

As I’ve oft written, having been at this for almost seven years, I have a
pretty good feel for the individual styles of the various chartwriters at
American tracks – as well as their default euphemisms for dead. At Los
Alamitos, for example, the preferred dead-speak is “injured, vanned off.”
Yesterday, that was the “note” given to Chickititas Favorite in the 5th. And
sure enough, I have confirmed (CHRB), the 3-year-old is dead.
