Holly, Tim, Mia, Mana, Manu, and Anh Sang are safe at last. They’ve experienced more kindness and love in the past five days than they’ve been shown in their entire lives.
Thanks to your generous support, the six suffering moon bears we wrote
to you about last week are now safely at our sanctuary in Vietnam.
After a gruelling four-day rescue mission, Holly, Tim, Mia, Mana, Manu, and
Anh Sang are safe at last. They’ve experienced more kindness and love in the
past five days than they’ve been shown in their entire lives.
Meet the six beautiful bears your love and kindness helped to save…
Our emergency response team arrived at the bear bile farm on Friday
morning to scenes that would make you weep.
Six sets of terrified brown eyes watched our rescue team fearfully through
rusty cage bars. To them, humans meant only one thing… pain.
As rescuers offered gifts of honey and strawberry sauce to gain their trust,
the terrible damage and abuse inflicted on these beautiful bears was clear
to see:
But away from the farm, their wounds tended to, and their pain relieved,
the bears’ hidden personalities have already begun to emerge.
Manu is a little gentleman who knows how to take it easy. Every time the
rescue teams went to check on him at the back of the truck, he was lying on
his back, relaxing, legs in the air!
And Tim’s enthusiasm for browse and leaves, melts our hearts. It’s sad to
think that this is probably the only green he has touched for a decade. But
just look at the pure joy a simple banana leaf brings to our brave boy...
This time last week, these bears didn’t have a single friend in the world. But today, they are so lucky to have a very special friend in you. Thank you for all you do for Asia’s abused animals.
