Hello Frank,
My best friend is a vegan and also a saved Christian, who was instrumental
in leading me to the Lord at the age of sixteen. We are both genuine animal
lovers and would never hurt even an insect. I never really understood the
horror and barbarity that domestic animals, especially in this case, pigs
have to suffer so people can 'eat'. It's disgraceful so it is.
I certainly think I ought to be vegan if I would like to show that I care as much as I would like to. I cannot condone cruelty to animals and shame on those people who commit such acts of horror on these poor innocent pigs, and others like them. They are all God's creatures. On a friend's farm, as a child, I once help to wean a piglet who was very weak and could not suckle from it's mother properly. The farmer and his wife, who were Christians themselves showed me how to feed it with a baby's bottle!!
What a lovely experience it was for me as a nine-year-old!! The pig grew up to be healthy and strong and I asked if she could be called Rosemary? They laughed and said yes of course!! I always had a special liking for pigs since then, not long afterwards, I stopped eating pork and bacon. I think the work you do is outstanding, and I certainly wish to play my part in exposing this horrific barbarity suffered by pigs and other lovely farm.
